Last Minute Booking Tips

Your Rights
* If a holiday advertised at a specific price, the law says it has to be available at that price,
whether it's in a travel agent's window, on the Internet or in a newspaper.
But companies can legally get round this by adding a disclaimer such as "Subject to availability" or
putting "From" before the price. If a holiday price is advertised without a disclaimer and the holiday
isn't available at that price, the company offering it is committing a criminal offence and you can report
it to your local councils's Tradinds Standarts department. You do not have a legal right to insist on buying
at the advertised price, but it is worth pointing out to the manager that they are displaying a misleading
price and asking if they can use their discretion to sell at that price.

* No matter how cheap the holiday, the law says that it must be described ( so ifyou
booked a specific hotel, for example, that's where should be); that ant factual details
from brochures, ads or websites must be correct and not misleading; and that your accomodation
must be clean and safe.

* when you book a package, the holiday company is responsible for everything
included in that package and must deal with any promlems, so don't be fobbed off if a rep claims
it's the airline's or the hotelier's fault.

* A holiday company can insist that you have travel insurance, but not that you
buy it from them, not can it change you more if you choose not to(and you
can almost always get cheaper insurance elsewhere).
